Governor Kay Ivey toured the $30 million investment project, Merchants Plaza, while visiting Mobile today. During the tour, the governor informed us she previously worked on the fifth floor of Merchants National Bank in the marketing and public relations department. Other attendees of the tour included Mayor Sandy Stimpson, County Commissioner Connie Hudson, Alabama State Port Authority CEO Jimmy Lyons and many other dignitaries. Josh Hall of NAI Mobile, leasing and property management company for the redevelopment project, conducted the tour for the governor and the extensive crew and media that attended.

Stephen McNair of McNair Historic Preservation discussed the vast history of the property, and the significance the state and federal historic tax credits have on making these renovation projects possible. McNair serves as history advisor to Heritage Land & Development for the redevelopment of the project.

You can learn more about the details of the project here.
